i believe in many holistic therapies and think nothing should be dismissed. although they should always be used alongside conventional medicine if needed, they can be soooooooooooo good for you! my aunty practices reiki, as does a friend of mine and i think that can have amazing results. i am also interested in aromatherapy, but have loads to learn. i have tried homeopathy too in the past - i wasn't too impressed with that. what do you think? mary xx

I have found, over the years, that there are many good therapies for maintaining good health, both physical & mental. A philosophy I have tried to follow is that "a healthy body does not get sick". By making sure that the body get everything it needs to maintain its healthy balance, the only thing that is left is to make sure that the mind is not concentrating on negitive ideas & information. Everyone has heard the ad campaigns, "It's cold & flu season! Do you have --- in your medicine cabinet?" Negitive programing, for sure. Great for selling products, but terrible subliminal programing for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I like Reiki, I don't practice it but a friend of mine does, also aromatherapy, and crystal therapy.

I had reiki done once but for some reason couldn't settle properly (which the therapist acknowledged at the end). I found it really hard to keep my eyes closed and in turn my eyelids kept flickering and as I was focussed on trying to keep them closed I couldn't clear my mind. Would try it again though.
I took an indian head massage class but found it was rubbish. Some people were crying which was meant to be a normal reaction!

I'm interested in therapies too, although it's everything really. I was just facinated with Reflexology and then was asked to do a project on it for school but needed a bigger topic, I was told Complimentary therapies and researched a few of them. There wasn't much about Reiki but of what was there, I was really interested in it. I was thinking of studying in a few of them including Reiki and Reflexology but have many more interests aswell.

At the moment im studying crystals thru books and any information on the internet and holistic shops. I have found Malachite stands out from any other and feel it is quite a powerful crystal personally. I am also drawn to try Haematite and Moonstone plus the mysterious Sugalite.

hi looby malachite is a powerful crystal, for sure, i find it especially helpful for aches and pains when i get them. i usually wear two bracelets daily - rose quartz and hematite, i have done for years! i have some moonstone too - just tumblestones, tho, which i keep in the bowl i have many crystals in, and tend to look for a crystal to carry from the bowl as and when i need to i think i have a stone for most things, lol. i'm lucky enough to have a beautiful crystal shop not too far away ;D trouble is, i want to spend too much when i go there! try googling "aristia" - they have a website, too, that you may like xx
