This is the designation for the period of time after the Moons last aspect & before it enters the next sign. This period of time may last seconds or minutes, or it can last as long as a day or two. The duration of this period depends on where the Moon is, in relation to the other planets. During this period of time, people may feel without direction or disconnected. Judgments may be faulty, decisions unrealistic. Actions taken during this time produce unexpected results, unanticipated hassles & delays. While the Moon is void of course, it is a good time to pursue non-materialistic, subjective, & spiritual concerns. An ideal time to focus on centering oneself.
This interval had it's effect on the Presidential Inauguration, as stated in the Mercury Retrograde post. The Moon went void of course on January 19th, at 10:37 PM EST & entered the sign of Sagittarius, the next day at 12:30 PM EST, almost 30 minutes after the Oath of Office was taken. The Oath was re-taken the next night while the Moon was well into Sagittarius, making no aspects.
